Hong Kong’s dining and bar community has organised a series of fundraisers to support relief efforts for those impacted by the Tai Po fire. Here are some of the initiatives you can take part in.
In the days since the tragic Wang Fuk Court fire in Tai Po, the city has been grieving. Amid this pain, Hong Kong’s food and drink community has responded in the way it knows best: by coming together, opening their doors and offering care through action.
Chefs, bartenders, restaurateurs and community partners have stepped forward to raise funds for relief efforts, support emergency shelters and help provide food, essentials and longer-term assistance to those affected. Many in the wider community have also already given generously, through donations, by showing up to events, or offering help where it was needed most. The initiatives that continue to emerge, from charity dinners to profit-donation days, tastings and community gatherings, reflect a shared commitment to stand beside the people of Tai Po with humility and genuine solidarity.
This list brings together the efforts you can take part in, and we will keep adding to it as further initiatives are announced, in the hope that it helps connect those who wish to support with those who need it most.

Plate it Forward

Plate It Forward, organised by Gloria Chung of @foodandtravelhk, brings together Hong Kong’s dining community for a one-day dinnerware sale in support of Tai Po relief efforts, turning surplus restaurant tableware into meaningful aid. Taking place on December 21 at The Lawn, Upper House, the event features participating restaurants, including Andō, Estro, Leela, Mora, Roganic, Wing, and others, offering plates, bowls, and cutlery sets at accessible prices, with all proceeds directed to fire disaster support. It’s a practical and well-considered way to extend the life of beautiful dining pieces while giving back, with payment options including cash, PayMe, and FPS, and guests encouraged to bring their own bags.
